Notes on the nest and eggs of Nyctiornis amicta
This is a brief note by H. J. Kelsall describing the nest and eggs of Nyctiornis amicta, a bee-eater, published in JSBRAS Vol. 24 (1891).
Summary
Kelsall reports that no proper nest was found; the eggs were simply laid at the end of a tunnel that was no more than 6 or 8 inches below ground and nearly horizontal (p. 170). He provided the eggs to Mr. Davison, who identified them as those of Nyctiornis amicta. Two eggs were measured at 1.25 × 1.15 inches and 1.22 × 1.10 inches (p. 170).
