Nest and eggs of Hernicurus raficapillus Temm

This is a brief note by H. J. Kelsall describing the discovery of eggs at the end of a ground tunnel, initially associated with Henicurus ruficapillus but identified by Mr. Davison as those of the bee-eater Nyctiornis amicta (p. 170).

Summary

The note records that no proper nest was found; the eggs were simply laid at the end of a tunnel no more than 6–8 inches below ground and nearly horizontal. Two eggs were measured at 1.25 × 1.15 inches and 1.22 × 1.10 inches respectively. The eggs were deposited in the Singapore Museum (p. 170).
