Examen de quelques Orthopteres interessants du Musée de Sarawak
Bolívar’s 1914 note describes two new genera and two new species of Orthoptera from the Sarawak Museum collection, along with a new variety and additional locality records for Borneo.
Summary
Working from specimens provided by J. C. Moulton, Director of the Sarawak Museum, Bolívar establishes Moultonia gen. nov. (Pyrgomorphidae) with the type species M. violacea sp. nov., a pale olive-green form with violaceous wings from Kuching (p. 85–86). He also describes Molua gen. nov. (Acrididae) with the type M. antennata sp. nov., a female from Mount Molu, Malinau, characterised by thick antennae and a short, rounded frontal carina (p. 87–88). A new variety, Cyrtacanthacris succinctus var. sternocardias, is described from Batu Lawi, distinguished by a heart-shaped interlobular space on the mesosternum (p. 88). The note also records Atractomorpha dohrni and Trigonopteryx hopei from Borneo and discusses the pronounced ontogenetic change in pronotal shape in Systella rafflesi, which had previously misled Stål into erecting the genus Gyrtone (p. 87).
