A new species of Chalcis from Borneo
This is a brief taxonomic note by P. Cameron describing a new species of the hymenopteran genus Chalcis from Borneo, published in the Journal of the Straits Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society in 1905.
Summary
Cameron describes Chalcis borneanus, sp. nov., a female specimen measuring 4½ mm in length, collected in Borneo. The species is characterised by a black body with whitish-yellow markings on the scape, femoral apices, tibiae, tarsi, and tegulae, and red hind femora with longish, clearly separated middle teeth. The scutellum terminates in two stout, bluntly rounded teeth longer than broad, and the wings are hyaline with black nervures. The description details the antennal structure, head punctuation, thoracic sculpture, and abdominal morphology (p. 52).
